Satan’s Attacks

Satan’s Attacks

Most of us don’t really think about the spiritual warfare that’s happening all around us. It’s easy to hope and trust in God when times are good. We like reminding ourselves of God’s love and peace, but the truth is that a lot of the time we disregard Satan and what he does to us. We open doors and leave them cracked, allowing him to worm his way into our lives.

Satan comes for three reasons and three reasons only: to steal, to kill, and to destroy. He wants to rob you of everything you have; not only your family, friends, your job, and life, but your hope, your joy, your faith, your trust, your peace, and more. He wants to kill you, and more than that, he wants to destroy your soul, your very existence.

God has come that we may have an abundant life to the full. He is everything Satan is – good, and whole and pure and compassionate and full of mercy. Say it’s one of those days and everything is getting on your nerves and then you snap at a loved one. That single, rude moment can turn into a nasty fight. It’s an open door, allowing Satan to waltz right on in and ruin your day and possibly even your life.

That weak moment of temptation when sin just looks and seems so good. “Oh, it’s only once” or “just for a moment” and other excuses may pop into your head. You’re standing right in front of Satan as he’s holding a bow with a flaming arrow aimed right for your heart.

He can take minor irritation and turn it into anger and then turn that to bitterness, and bitterness to hatred. He can take fear and turn it into doubt and mistrust. If you let him.

Yet there is good news! Amazing news! God fights our battles for us. Sometimes we have to step out of the way and let God handle things. We can give our troubles to God and tell Him everything we’re going through, everything we’re feeling. He already knows, but it’s a symbol of placing our lives in His hands and putting our faith and trust in Him. In Jesus Christ’s Holy Name, bind Satan and his demons, rebuke them, and cast them out of your life, your family’s lives, and your home.

Do not let Satan attack you without fighting back! God’s Word is a sword, meant for you to wield in faith, trust, truth, and hope. Use it! God is your shield and your refuge, cling to Him! We are in a spiritual warfare and God has called us to the battlefield. Let God and His Word fight with you as you stand, a spiritual warrior, praying in attack against the Enemy and his followers.
