Take A Step Back

Take A Step Back

As Christians, we all should want to learn and grow, to become better than we were before. Not only is this especially true for us to grow in our spiritual walk with God and in our relationship with Him, but it’s important for us to grow as people too.

So, I wanted to be honest and heartfelt and speak of something that I’ve learned. Recently, there has been a lot going on in my life. First, I was part of an anthology from a fantastic group of authors. The book is called Glimpses of Time and Magic. Second, I was trying to raise money on Kickstarter so that I could get a plan here on wordpress and start my own online store.

With the anthology, there were a lot of different personalities mixing. Each of us as authors were at different areas and parts of our journeys as authors and many of us all had different ideas and ways to market the book. Along the way, there were a few issues and some authors had to respectfully leave.

I don’t know everything. In fact, when it comes to publishing and marketing, even though I’ve learned so much, I don’t know it all. Sometimes, we have to take a step back and let others take the lead, even if that isn’t something you’re comfortable with. On the opposite end, sometimes, you have to step up, especially if you’re the only one who can help someone else.

It’s okay to have to look to others for help and support. It’s okay to stop and try to learn and ask questions to become better.

On that same note, we must step back and let God into the forefront of our lives. He is in complete control and even though it may be hard to admit sometimes, He knows everything, which is a whole lot more than we know.

God knows what’s best for us and He wants what’s best for us. So letting go and letting God is one of the best things you can do.

Secondly, with the Kickstarter, I learned that sometimes, you have to lean on and rely on God. It isn’t just something we should do. Sometimes, you have to. When everything is chaotic and you’re scared or worried, when you’re not sure how things are going to work out ,and especially when they seem impossible, that’s when God can really move in your life.

But first, you have to take a step back.

There’s nothing to be ashamed of in depending on God. Here on earth, leaning on and depending on others is seen as being immature. You’re supposed to go out, get a job, support yourself, move away from your house, live on your own. But that isn’t the case with God. The more you learn to depend on God, the more you’re growing in your walk with Him.

So, take a step back and let God handle things today. Remember, when you look back across the sand and see only one pair of footprints, it was there that God carried you.
