A Book I’ve Waited Years to Bring to You

A Book I’ve Waited Years to Bring to You

I figured it was well beyond time I share a special quote from Survivor with all of you! Here it is. Enjoy!

“I’ll be fine, Nyve, and we don’t have the resources,” he said as if he had read my mind. I reluctantly nodded and let him help me limp on through that chamber and into another tunnel beyond. “Do you think he had no weapon to kill it with?”

Jerron glared at the ground for a moment. “Both of his knives he had made were still sheathed, Ny. I don’t think he tried. I think, given what happened with Chyya, he just …” His voice trailed off as he focused back on the path ahead of us.

“Gave up?” I whispered the words, trying not to think about how Jerron acted the same after Nashton confronted him about his past.

Jerron nodded. “I just understand where he’s coming from. And I can’t really blame him for it either.”

“Jer, don’t tell me you …” I choked, unable to even say it.

Jerron stopped and helped lean me against the wall. Blood slowly oozed from the gashes on his arms and chest. The creature’s claws had torn through his leather shirt. “No, I’m not thinking like that anymore. You reminded me to fight and to live, to try to make up for my past. It’s just …” He sighed and wiped sweat and grime off his forehead with his arm. “It’s just heartbreaking that he didn’t have someone to tell him that. Giving up and dying all alone …” His eyes held such pain, I wanted to take it away.

I limped up to him and held my forehead against his. For a moment, we stayed like that, panting and in pain and trying not to think about all the death that surrounded every single one of us here.

Or how death hung over the two of us … regardless of whether we won or lost.

Want to start reading chapter one? Visit the campaign page, and you’ll find a link to start reading and see if it’s your kind of book!

By pledging to the campaign, starting as low as the price of a cup of coffee, you’re helping to keep my dream alive. All the money goes into fulfilling orders from the campaign and then right back into the price of publishing these books (editing being the main cost). Plus, you get a special edition of Survivor that isn’t available anywhere else and will not be available once the campaign ends. You only have 11 more days to go before it’s gone forever!

That means that you’ll never have a chance to get this book (Survivor the TV show but deadly meets the Hunger Games with multiple POVs, no spice romantic subplots, found family, deadly challenges, action, and more) with the illustrations in the book, the short bonus story, Directed, the Spotify playlist page with a QR code to the playlist which I’m constantly updating, and the detailed character guide with 12 character sketches, and more.
