Check back here to see if I’m currently needing any beta readers or reviewers. Feel free to sign up for whatever you want; I just ask that you fulfil whatever you sign up for (reviewing for reviewers and beta reading for beta readers, unless there are extenuating circumstances).
Malcolm Holst is a former Navy SEAL turned MMA fighter who’s seen the worst the world has to offer—but nothing prepared him for the betrayal that shattered his life.
I’m looking for beta readers to give me feedback on my military romantic suspense called The First to Fall. I’m mostly concerned about the story pacing and just want to make sure that the romance and suspense both work and are balanced out. If anything stands out to you as something that’s a problem or that you don’t like, please let me know. This feedback will help me as I go into the editing phase and prepare the book for publication. Here is the blurb:
Malcolm Holst is a former Navy SEAL turned MMA fighter who’s seen the worst the world has to offer—but nothing prepared him for the betrayal that shattered his life. Framed for a crime he didn’t commit, he lost everything: his career, his freedom, and his family. Now free but haunted by his past, Malcolm is just trying to rebuild his life for the sake of his kids.
Courtney Griffin has her own scars to hide, running a small-town bakery while trying to keep her mother’s memory alive. She has no room for complications, especially not the brooding ex-SEAL with a reputation as dangerous as his intense gray eyes. But when a deadly intruder targets her home, the man she swore to avoid becomes the only one she can trust.
As their lives collide, Malcolm and Courtney are thrust into a deadly game of survival. A shadowy enemy with ties to Malcolm’s past is hunting them both, and trusting each other isn’t just a risk—it’s the only way to stay alive.
With danger closing in and secrets threatening to tear them apart, can Malcolm and Courtney find the strength to face their demons—and each other—or will the past claim them both?
He’s fighting to clear his name. She’s fighting to stay alive. Together, they’ll learn what it truly means to fall.
