There is a lot about Heaven that we do not fully understand but it will be far more amazing than our minds can really comprehend. Imagine the most joyous, fun time you’ve had here on earth—a time when you were filled with the most happiness you’ve ever felt—and then multiply it. That will be our lives in Heaven for eternity!
We’ll get to see our Father God and Jesus face-to-face. We’ll come into full understanding and be able to ask God all the questions we’ve ever thought. We’ll be reunited with loved ones and be able to sing and praise God and be the best versions of ourselves—who God truly intended us to be.
Friends, Heaven is our true home. Years ago, I’m ashamed to admit, I valued my life here on earth more. There’s nothing wrong with that, of course, so long as you seek and follow and obey God, but I wanted my human life more than I wanted Heaven. Recently, however, God has brought me to a deeper level in my personal relationship with Him and in my longing. Now, my heart and mind, my very soul longs for Heaven and the perfection God has waiting for us.
Until recently, I never knew what it felt like to truly thirst for God. But this life on earth, however great or terrible it may seem to be for you, it’s only temporary. We’re just passing through. Heaven is our true home and God our truest friend, our Heavenly Father. Being with Him and staying in His Presence is where we truly belong.
Live your life to the fullest. Do the work God has called for you to do and embrace the dreams and passions He has placed on your heart. Preach the Gospel to others, and show others kindness and love. But never ever forget where we’re going—
Never forget where our true home lies.
